Chia seeds, goji berries, blueberries and almonds aren't just good for healthy smoothies, but are also beneficial for the skin. Superfoods, which are high-quality food products, are good for the entire body, providing it with vitamins and minerals. You can use them in salads or smoothies, and you can also look for cosmetics that contain them. Find out which superfoods are best for improving skin condition.

Chia seeds for the skin

Chia, or Spanish sage seeds, are beneficial not only for immunity and the digestive system, but also for the skin. That's why it features in many cosmetics, for example in the oil-infused micellar water with chia and goji, which not only removes makeup, but also looks after delicate skin. There aren't many ingredients that are as beneficial as chia seeds. The skin soothing, rejuvenating and improving properties make you see results immediately.

Chia seeds contain omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, which are soothing and regenerating. They also contain minerals that rebuild the skin. Vitamin C, vitamin A and vitamin B complex make chia oil suitable for looking after mature and very dry skin. They are often used in makeup removers.

Goji berries – properties

The second component of the oil-infused micellar water is goji berries. Goji oil is one of the most valuable skincare elements. The properties of goji berries are good for all skin types, are the most universal, and target specific problems. Their antioxidant properties mean they're anti-ageing, because they help eliminate free radicals.

Goji oil also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It's a superfood that can be added to desserts and used in skincare products.

Argan oil – use

Although argan oil isn't edible, it's the best "superfood" for the skin. It has exceptionally high levels of nutrients, as well as antiseptic, smoothing and protective properties. This makes it suitable for all skin types. It will work for dry, sensitive, allergic, and even acne-prone and problematic skin.

A great solution is cosmetic argan oil for makeup removal. It's also found in skincare products. It contains vitamin E – the vitamin of youth – as well as Omega 3 and 6 acids. This makes it an ideal product for skin in need of nourishment – there's nothing more age defying than vitamin E. The antioxidant and anti-wrinkle effects are amazing!

Spirulina for the face

Spirulina is an algae that's added to smoothies. It has an intense green colour because it contains a lot of chlorophyll. Thanks to this, it’s great for skincare and makeup removal. Algae have remarkable moisturising and regenerating properties. For instance, they can be used on skin burns. They also intensively smoothe the skin, immediately eliminate wrinkles and make the face smooth, pleasant to the touch and velvety soft. A product that contains spirulina is the Lirene Spirulina Nutrition mask.

When buying cosmetics, especially those for facial cleansing such as makeup removers or masks, check to see if they contain superfoods. Remember that having highly nutritious foods in your diet is also good for the skin, but applying them directly gives much better results.
